HOTELS NEAR FLORENCE, KY
Express Inn & Suites, at 1000 East Eads Parkway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is about 25 minutes and roughly 22 miles from Florence, Kentucky, mostly on I-275. Rooms start from $69 per night and include free hot breakfast, free parking, an indoor heated pool and a 24-hour front desk.
Getting here
From Florence, take I-71/75 north a few miles to the I-275 interchange and head west on I-275. The interstate loops past the CVG airport exits and Hebron, crosses the Ohio River into Indiana, and reaches exit 16 for US-50. Follow US-50 toward Lawrenceburg and Greendale for about 2 miles to the hotel on East Eads Parkway.
When I-75 is backed up around the Florence exits, which happens on Friday afternoons and around the holidays, you can take KY-18 (Burlington Pike) west to Burlington, then KY-237 north to I-275 at exit 8. It's a few minutes longer on paper, but often calmer.
1000 East Eads Parkway, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025
Florence sits on the I-71/75 corridor, and the hotels there mostly cater to drivers on the interstate. Express Inn & Suites is for people who want a quieter base with a free hot breakfast, an indoor heated pool for the kids and room to spread out, and who don't mind a 25-minute drive to get it. The family-sized rooms, the Two Queen Room and the Deluxe King Studio Suite, sleep four.
It also makes sense when Florence is only one stop on the trip. From the hotel you're five minutes from Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, about 20 minutes from CVG and about 25 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, so a weekend that mixes a ballgame in Florence, a night out at the casino and a flight home doesn't require changing hotels.
Summer baseball is a big draw. The Florence Y'alls play Frontier League ball at Thomas More Stadium, and the team takes its name from the city's well-known "Florence Y'all" water tower beside I-75. Families come in for games, fireworks nights and youth tournaments. Buy tickets through the team's official site.
Turfway Park, in Florence, runs thoroughbred racing and historical horse racing machines, and the Mall Road area around the Florence Mall is Northern Kentucky's main shopping strip. On the work side, Florence is home to the North American headquarters of machine-tool maker Mazak and a long list of manufacturing and distribution sites along the interstate.
St. Elizabeth Florence hospital also serves this part of Boone County, and some of our guests are relatives in town to support a patient for several days.
For an evening ballgame, leave the hotel about 40 minutes before you want to be in your seat so you have time to park. The drive back after the last out is usually easy, since you're heading west on I-275, away from downtown traffic. The pool closes at 9:00 PM, so if the kids want to swim, go before the game rather than after.
If you're here for a hospital stay, a longer visit is more manageable with the microwave and fridge in every room and the guest laundry on site. Ask the front desk about weekly rates if you think you'll be here more than a few nights. And if Florence is your jumping-off point for the Ark Encounter, it's on the way: I-75 south through Florence leads to Williamstown, about 45 minutes from the hotel.
