HOTELS NEAR BATESVILLE, IN
Express Inn & Suites at 1000 East Eads Parkway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is about 40 minutes and roughly 35 miles from Batesville by I-74 and I-275, and about 20 minutes from CVG airport. Rooms start from $69 per night with free hot breakfast, free parking, an indoor heated pool and a 24-hour front desk.
Getting here
The interstate route is the most predictable. From Batesville, get on I-74 east at exit 149 (IN-229) and follow it past Sunman and St. Leon toward the Ohio line. Just over the state line, take I-275 south toward Kentucky and the airport, then take exit 16 for US-50 into Lawrenceburg and Greendale. The hotel is about 2 miles along Eads Parkway.
Locals often take the back way instead. Follow I-74 east to the IN-1 exit at St. Leon, then take IN-1 south through the hills of Dearborn County into Greendale and Lawrenceburg. It's slightly shorter in miles and much prettier, but it's a curvy two-lane road, so stay on the interstate in snow, ice or heavy rain.

To be honest, if your entire trip is inside Batesville, a hotel in town will save you the drive. Our guests with Batesville plans usually have a second reason to be in the southeast corner: a flight in or out of CVG, a night at Hollywood Casino, a Reds game in Cincinnati, or family spread between Batesville and the river towns. Lawrenceburg sits between all of those, about 40 minutes from Batesville and 20 from the airport.
Business travelers flying in for meetings often land at CVG, check in with us, drive up I-74 for the day and come back for dinner near the river. Wedding guests like having the casino, the riverfront and the indoor pool nearby for the off-hours of a long weekend.
Batesville is a manufacturing town with a strong German heritage and an outsized corporate footprint for its size. It's the longtime home of Hillenbrand, the industrial equipment company, and of Batesville Casket Company, which Hillenbrand founded and later sold. Both still draw visitors, vendors and new employees, and the hospital-bed business that started here as Hill-Rom also has deep roots in town.
Margaret Mary Health is the regional hospital in Batesville, and Batesville High School's sports and graduations bring families in through the year. Just north of town, Oldenburg, known as the Village of Spires for its church steeples, holds its German-themed Freudenfest each summer, and its Franciscan convent and Oldenburg Academy bring their own visitors.
If you're commuting up I-74 for daytime meetings, breakfast runs until 9:30 AM on weekdays, so you can eat and still be in Batesville for a 9 or 10 o'clock start. Evening traffic back toward Lawrenceburg is generally light, and I-74 has few slowdowns outside construction season.
For weddings and reunions, ask about a group room block before the date is announced to guests. The meeting space holds up to 30 for a rehearsal gathering or a family breakfast meeting. If you're bringing the family dog, we take up to two pets of any size at $25 per pet per night on the third floor.
