HOTELS NEAR MILAN, IN
Express Inn & Suites in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is about 35 minutes and roughly 25 miles from Milan, by US-50 and IN-350 through Aurora and Moores Hill. Rooms start from $69 per night and include free hot breakfast, free parking, an indoor heated pool and a 24-hour front desk.
Getting here
The back-road route is the most direct. From Milan, take IN-350 east through Moores Hill and down the hills to Aurora, then turn onto US-50 east and follow it along the river through Lawrenceburg to the hotel on East Eads Parkway. It's about 25 miles of two-lane state highway and small-town streets, with farm views most of the way.
If you'd rather stay on the interstate, take IN-101 north from Milan to I-74 at exit 156 near Sunman, follow I-74 east to I-275 south, and take exit 16 for US-50. It's several miles longer but easier at night, when the hills and curves on IN-350 are harder to see and deer are out.

Milan is a small Ripley County town, and many visitors, whether in for a family gathering, a funeral, a school reunion or a week helping out at a relative's farm, look to the nearest larger towns for a hotel. Lawrenceburg is one of the closest, about 35 minutes away, with a hot breakfast, an indoor pool for the grandkids and a 24-hour front desk if you leave a family dinner late.
Being in Lawrenceburg also puts the rest of the region within reach. CVG airport is about 20 minutes away for relatives flying in, downtown Cincinnati is about 25 minutes, and Hollywood Casino is five minutes from the parking lot.
Milan is famous for one basketball game. In 1954, tiny Milan High School won the Indiana state championship against a much larger Muncie Central, back when Indiana had one tournament for every school. That upset inspired the 1986 film Hoosiers, and it's still one of the best-known stories in Indiana sports.
The Milan '54 Hoosiers Museum, in a former bank building in town, holds memorabilia from the championship team and one of the largest collections of props and costumes from the film. It's a common stop for basketball fans traveling around the state, especially in March. Check the museum's own site for hours before you drive out.
Beyond basketball, Milan is a farming community. Nearby, the Ripley County Fair is held each summer in Osgood, and Versailles State Park, one of the larger state parks in southeastern Indiana, is a short drive away.
Plan on a two-lane drive. IN-350 is scenic, but it climbs and twists between Aurora and Moores Hill, and after dark the interstate route through Sunman is the more relaxed choice. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so late arrivals after a visitation or reunion supper are no problem.
Family groups do well with our Two Queen Rooms, which sleep four, or with connecting rooms requested at booking. Up to two kids 18 and under stay free using the existing beds, and cribs are free. For reunion weekends, ask the front desk about a group room block and about the meeting space, which holds up to 30 for a family meal or a slideshow night.
