PET-FRIENDLY HOTEL · LAWRENCEBURG, IN
Express Inn & Suites at 1000 East Eads Parkway in Lawrenceburg, IN accepts up to two dogs or cats of any size for $25 per pet per night. Pet rooms are on the 3rd floor, Todd Creech Park is a 7-minute walk, and I-275 is about 2 miles away. Rooms start from $69 per night.
The short version: two pets per room, dogs or cats, no weight limit, $25 per pet for each night of the stay. A Great Dane and a Chihuahua are treated the same way. If you are traveling with one 80-pound retriever, the fee is $25 a night; bring the retriever and the family cat and it is $50 a night. The fee is added at the front desk, so mention your pets when you book so we can hold the right kind of room.
All of our pet-friendly rooms are grouped together on the 3rd floor. That keeps barking and scratching away from guests with allergies, and it means your neighbors down the hall are likely traveling with animals too. The building has an elevator, so older dogs and pet carriers do not have to go up the stairs. Both king rooms and two-queen rooms are available as pet rooms, which works for a solo traveler with one dog or a family with two.
Service animals are not pets under our policy. They stay at no charge, are not limited to the 3rd floor, and are welcome in every room type.
Start with the pet relief area on our own grounds. It is the quickest option for a late arrival off the highway or a first trip outside at sunrise, and it keeps you close to your room.
For a real walk, Todd Creech Park is about 7 minutes away on foot. It is a neighborhood park with walking paths, which makes it a good loop before breakfast or after a long day in the car. If you want more of a stroll, historic downtown Lawrenceburg is about a 6-minute drive. Park near Walnut Street and walk up to the Ohio River levee, where the path runs along the water and gives a dog plenty to sniff.
Looking for trails? Shawnee Lookout, about 15 minutes east across the Ohio line, has wooded hiking paths and river overlooks. Check that park's current pet rules before you go, and keep dogs leashed on shared trails.
Call the front desk at +1 (812) 717-4062 to say how many pets you are bringing and what kind. Because pet rooms are limited to one floor, busy weekends can fill them before the rest of the hotel. Booking ahead is the surest way to get a pet room on a Friday or Saturday, especially during casino events or the fall travel season.
Every room has a mini-fridge and a microwave, which helps if your dog eats wet food or you need to keep medication cold. Bring your own bowls, a leash, and a familiar blanket or crate; animals settle faster in a new room with their own bedding. Ask the front desk about the policy on leaving a pet alone in the room while you head to dinner or the casino, and plan on a crate if your dog is anxious in new places.
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so if you roll in late from a long drive with a restless dog, someone will be there to hand you a key.
Plenty of hotels say they are pet-friendly and then cap dogs at 25 pounds. We do not have a size limit, and that is usually the deciding factor for owners of big breeds. The flat per-pet fee is easy to budget for, and nothing is hidden behind a separate cleaning charge.
The location helps too. We are about 2 miles from I-275 on US-50, so road-trippers can stop without wandering through city traffic, and the large free parking lot makes loading and unloading crates simple. Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg is about 5 minutes away and downtown Cincinnati is about 25 minutes.
And the people get looked after as well: free hot breakfast every morning, an indoor heated pool open 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, a 24-hour fitness center, and free Wi-Fi. The whole building is non-smoking.
Tips from the front desk
Pet rooms are only on the 3rd floor, so tell us about your pets when you book rather than at check-in.
A loop to Todd Creech Park takes about 7 minutes each way, then breakfast runs until 9:30 AM on weekdays.
A crate helps nervous dogs settle in a new room and is worth bringing if you plan an evening out.
Keep wet food, treats and pet medication in the in-room mini-fridge.
