Most of our longer-stay guests are here for work or for a life event that does not fit neatly into a weekend. Traveling nurses and therapists on short contracts, people between homes while a closing goes through, families relocating to Dearborn County, insurance-claim stays after a house repair, and project workers who need a base for a few weeks all end up asking the same question at the desk: what does it cost if I stay seven nights or more?

It helps to know what you need before you call. Are you staying one week or six? Is it just you, or a spouse and kids? Will a dog or cat be coming along? Up to two pets of any size can stay in our 3rd-floor pet rooms at $25 per pet per night, and up to two kids 18 and under stay free using existing bedding. Giving the desk the full picture up front means the room you get on night one is the room you can live with on night twenty.

None of our rooms have a full kitchen, but every one has the basics that make a long stay workable: a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a coffee and tea maker. That is enough for leftovers, frozen meals, yogurt and fruit, and a morning cup before you head out. Grocery stores and a pharmacy are a short drive along US-50, so restocking takes minutes.

There is also a work desk, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV with cable, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, and an in-room safe for laptops, passports and paperwork. If you need more floor space for a month of luggage, the king studio suite adds a sofa bed and a separate sitting area, and the deluxe king studio suite is our largest room.

Guest laundry is on the property, so there is no need to hunt for a laundromat on a day off. The lobby sundry shop covers forgotten toothpaste and snacks, and there is an ATM in the lobby as well.

Free hot breakfast is served every morning, not just on weekdays. Breakfast runs until 9:30 AM on weekdays and 10 AM on weekends, which takes one meal a day off your grocery list. Over a two-week stay, that adds up.

Parking is free and stays free no matter how long you are here. If you are leaving a second vehicle or a small trailer in the lot for the duration, ask the front desk first so we know whose it is. It is also worth asking how housekeeping is scheduled for longer stays, so you know when to expect fresh towels and linens.

Location does a lot of the work. The hotel sits on US-50 about 2 miles from I-275, so a daily commute to the west side of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, or southeast Indiana does not involve downtown traffic. Downtown Cincinnati is about 25 minutes, CVG airport is about 20 minutes, and Lawrenceburg's own shops, restaurants and riverfront are about 6 minutes away.

There is also something to do on the evenings and weekends you are not working. The indoor heated pool is open 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the fitness center is open around the clock, Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg is about 5 minutes away, and the trails at Shawnee Lookout are about 15 minutes east. A long stay feels shorter when you are not stuck in your room.
